Progress Reports from the Barn

January 5, 1997

Things have been moving along! Up until now the only way to get the old girl running was to pull her. I now have her fixed so that she will start on her own. The pre-heater was bad and replacing it seems to have done the trick. I have pulled the hood off of her and I am working on putting an alternator in place. I know it isn't supposed to have an alternator, but it will have to do until I get a generator for it.

It's been quite some time since I've updated the page. As you can see by the last two photos the work is nearly done. I have a belt pulley to put on yet and I just purchased the fender extensions that have eluded me for the last 10 years. I'm getting close...............

Since the last update I've purchased two more Olivers. I found a 1973 1465 in August 1998. The 1465 is one of three Olivers made by Fiat in Italy. She's not bad looking as is, but I figued I'd start on it when the Super 88 was done. However, two weeks ago I found a 1955 Super 55 that has been sitting in a leanto on the back of a barn for 20+ years. My wife bought it for me for my birthday (what a gal). That'll be the next project.
